Apple Inc. has now targeted Indian telecoms and is planning to launch its CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) version of iPhone. India is one of the world's fastest growing mobile markets. Now, Apple is been contacting 2 of the well known Indian telecom operators and is in talks with them to release the CDMA version of the iPhone. The 2 well known operators are Reliance Communications & Tata Teleservices.

Apple has already launched its GSM(Global System for Mobile communications) version in India through Vodafone Essar and Bharti AirTel. In US, Verizon Wireless will start to sell the CDMA version of iPhone in the early 2011.

The Journal said that Tata Teleservices is in talks with the Apple Inc. from past 4 or 5 months. Apple accounts Less than 1% among the smartphones market in India in this first half of 2010. Around 20% of the mobile users among 670 million users in India use CDMA phones. Introduction of the CDMA version of iPhone will help Apple Inc. to give access to more customers in India.

On Monday, industry-tracker Nielsen Company released its figures regarding smartphones in US market. According to the reports, stats show that smartphones running on Google's Android Operating System are gaining ground in US market. Smartphones which are running on the Android OS surged to 13% of the market. These smartphones has shown the most significant expansion in the market share among the current subscribers.

But on the other hand, Apple's iPhone has been the headline grabber over the last few years in the market. There has been a drop from 27% to 15% in the handsets which runs on Windows Mobile software in the US smartphone market during the same 1 year period. Blackberry smartphones are the most popular handsets in the US market which acquires 35% of the market. Next ones are the iPhones with 28% of the market.

The smartphones which has the capability of data connections like web browsing and e-mail etc., made up 25% of the US smartphone market. Nielsen Company predicted that this would surpass the number of feature phones by the end of 2011.

Earlier in May, ASUS announced that they will be producing two ASUS Eee Pad tablets. One Eee Pad will be of 12-inch tablet which will be running on Windows 7 Operating System and other one will be of 10-inch tablet which will be running on Windows Embedded Compact 7 Operating System. Now it seems that ASUS will be using Google's Android Operating System for its smaller Eee Pad tablet instead of Windows Embedded Compact 7 Operating System.

Google's Android Operating System is becoming popular day by day among the smartphones which makes sense for ASUS to adopt this Operating System for its Eee Pad tablet.

In Computex 2010 which held at Taipei in June, Eee Pad EP101TC tablet was demonstrated. At that point of time this tablet was running on Windows Embedded Compact 7 Operating System. Actually, ASUS had a good tie up with Microsoft for a long time, but in Feb, ASUS announced its Android based Nuvifone A50, which was developed with the partnership of Garmin.

Along with ASUS many others are dumping Windows. Lenovo, Dell, Cisco's Cius will be using Android for its tablets. HP will be using WebOS which is also called as dubbed Palm for its own tablets.

Apple, 3 weeks back launched its latest model of iPhone. In the first 3 days, it sold 1.7 million iPhones which outsold its previous version of iPhone. Soon after its release, even some issues raised.

In my earlier post i had written about the issue of antenna which is seen in Apple's latest iPhone. After hearing a number of complaints from the customers, finally, Apple Inc. has arranged a press conference which will be held on Friday. Apple Inc. will be discussing about their latest iPhone based on the complaints received regarding its antenna.
 
After a careful testing on the Apple's latest model of iPhone, Consumer Reports has concluded that when the iPhone is held in a certain way, the signal bar displayed is incorrect. Earlier Apple had told that they were using incorrect formula to indicate the signal strength and this can also be seen on other phones as well. But, Consumer Products did not find any signal problem in other phones. The signal problem occured only in latest iPhone model.

Consumer Products also have said that, covering the black spot with a case or a duct tape will eliminate the Signal problem. Now the speculations is that, Apple should provide "Bumper" case to the iPhone buyers which costs $29.
